About

Welcome to Hagyó Lak

Tucked into the wooded hills above Petrilaca de Mureș, Hagyó Lak is the kind of place you come to breathe out. Forest at the doorstep, open sky overhead — close enough to Târgu Mureș and Reghin for an easy drive, far enough to feel a world away.

There's no reception desk and no staff wandering the grounds. You have the house and the garden to yourselves: children run free in the grass, the kettle's always within reach, and evenings belong to the fire and the quiet. Open all year, whether you're after summer afternoons on the terrace or a snowbound winter escape.

Things to Do

From morning until the stars

The garden is a playground in the truest sense — and the hills beyond it are yours to wander.

Garden & fire

Cook over open flame on the grill or in a bogrács cauldron, then soak in the wood-fired hot tub under the stars.

For the kids

Zipline, trampoline, playground and a football pitch — plus animals to pet, and room to run until the light goes.

On the terrace

Foosball, table tennis and darts for the friendly rivalries.

Bikes & trails

Borrow the bikes for the lanes, or walk up through the forest to the belvedere for a long view over the valley.

Up in the wooded hills above Petrilaca, the year turns slowly — summer evenings on the terrace, autumn trails, a snowbound winter, and a small cabin curled around an old mulberry tree.

Questions

What guests usually ask

Are pets welcome?

Yes — well-behaved pets are welcome.

Is it open in winter?

Yes, open all year. Wood heating keeps the cabin warm through the cold months.

How do we book?

Call or send a WhatsApp message — we'll arrange the dates and details with you directly.

Do we need a car?

A car is the easiest way to get here and around. The nearest airport, Târgu Mureș, is about 36 km away.

Are there forest walks from the house?

Yes, and there's a nature trail on the property itself. Illustrated boards along it introduce the animals and insects that live in the area, each with a short description, so children learn what they're looking at as they go. Beyond the gate, field tracks lead into the woods and up to a lookout point over the valley, with no traffic the whole way.

What is there for children to do?

The garden has a playground, a zip line, a trampoline and a football pitch, and there are animals on the property the children can pet. The garden is enclosed, so they can run around freely.

Can we use the wood-fired hot tub?

Yes, all year round — most guests like it best in winter, out in the snow under the stars. It's heated with wood, so the fire needs lighting a few hours ahead; just tell us when you arrive if you'd like it that evening. We provide the firewood.

Is there anything to do if it rains?

There's table football and table tennis under cover, and the covered terrace stays usable in the rain. Inside, the house has wood heating and a fully equipped kitchen.

How quiet is it?

Very. The house sits above the village of Petrilaca de Mureș among wooded hills, with no through traffic — in the evening you mostly hear the forest. Târgu Mureș is 21 km away and Reghin 9 km, so towns are close but their noise isn't.

Are there animals on the property?

Yes — there are farm animals on the property and on the neighbouring pasture, and children can get close enough to pet them. Your own pets are welcome too.
